About
Who is Scattie Thoughts?
Scattie Thoughts is better known as Hattie Taylor - writer, dramaturg, educator, sometimes director, and all round lover of stories in all their forms. Don't let the name fool you, Hattie is actually incredibly organised and logical, and while her thoughts might sometimes be scatty the presentation of them is not.
She has worked with writers of all ages and career stages as a teacher and facilitator - most recently helping pupils find their literary voices as an English and Drama teacher. She also co-lead Theatre Royal Bath's Engage Writers group - offering feedback on scripts in various stages of development, organising actor led readings, and producing an end of year showcase for the group alongside the theatre.
Hattie's theatre work spans almost a decade, with writing and dramaturgy credits including Open Mic (Apricity Theatre), Under a Cardboard Sea (Bristol Old Vic), Come to Where I'm From - Bath (Paines Plough), Yellow Wallpaper (Dumb Blonde Theatre / The Rondo), What Lives, Forgotten (The Arc Theatre), and Aurora and Arabian Nights (The egg Theatre).
Hattie loves to work with writers delving into the nitty gritty of what makes them tick, and helping them get their unique voice heard. Everyone has a story in them, and everyone deserves to tell that story - Scattie Thoughts is here to help you do just that.

Why Choose Scattie Thoughts?
Writing is hard. Writing is also lonely at times. At Scattie Thoughts my goal is to act as a "critical friend" and offer an outside perspective on your script, helping you to make it the best version it can be.
That might look like a page of written notes - highlighting things you could consider moving forward along with things that are already working well, a video chat to work through a specific problem, or even just a sounding board to clarify what you're trying to say. Every writer has different needs and I try to keep my approach as flexible as possible to find what works best for my clients.
At some point during every writing / production process we all have to make compromises. I'm not here to make you do that too soon. My role is to help you find the best way to tell the story you want to tell: we'll work together to clarify the message and aims of you project, so you can approach future funding and producing partners with full confidence and a script you truly love and believe in.
