I've found that the best feedback comes when I've had the chance to get to know the writer and their aims for the piece before reading. Cold reads can be useful, but the best way to help get your script to the place you want it is for me to know what you want! Because of this, I ask that all scripts be submitted alongside a short form which tells me a little bit more about who you as a writer, the project as a whole, and most importantly any specific areas of feedback you are looking for. If you would like to see a copy of this form in advance please get in touch.

I am very aware of the financial pressures of working within the creative industries; if you are interested in a service but concerned about cost please get in touch and I am happy to discuss ways to work within your budget, or explore "in kind" options for those looking to include this within funding applications.

Emailed Feedback
After reading your script I will compile my notes into an easy to access table. You will receive specific feedback on plot, character, themes, structure and pacing, as well as some general thoughts.
Starting Rates:
Short Film / One Act Play: £35
Feature Film / Two Act Play: £80
Online Consultation Session
Think of this as the "grabbing coffee with a friend to chat it over" option. After reading your script I will email you my structured feedback, and arrange a 60 minute video call for us to delve a little deeper - talking through any specific thoughts or questions you might have.

Feature Film / Two Act Play: £110
Journey Bundle
Sometimes these things are not one and done. Sometimes it's nice to know you've got a consistent presence with you when you along the way.
This bundle guarantees that I will be with you for 6 months, working through whatever niggles you have and really getting to know you and you project. It includes up to five 60 minute video chats, and feedback on 3 full drafts throughout the 6 month period.
Starting Rates:
Short Film / One Act Play: £200
Feature Film / Two Act Play: £350
Scattie Thought's Promises:
- All scripts will be read fully at least twice before sending feedback - this helps me gain an understanding of the piece as a whole before focusing on more specific details.
- I aim to get initial feedback to you within 10 days of receiving a script - if the are circumstances that mean this will not be possible you will be provided with an alternative timeframe upon receipt of your script.
- All scripts and information from the initial submission form will be securely held and only retained for the duration of our work together. This information will not be publicly disclosed or distributed to any third parties.
- Feedback is never intended to insult, mislead or harm the writers I am working with. Asking someone to read your work can feel incredibly vulnerable and I aim to make writers feel as supported as possible.
- I will never be offended by a writer choosing not to use my feedback. It is one, subjective opinion and writers are encouraged to apply what works for them and discard what doesn't.
